With over 25 years of management success within healthcare environments, Joseph Howard serves as the Vice President of Contracting and Network Development for Arc Healthcare, LLC (ARC). Joseph is an expert contract negotiator within the network development and complex contracting process. His involvement includes network analysis, strategy and in providing expertise in achieving optimal results.
Joseph’s proven track record is built upon his extensive knowledge and superb leadership in the areas of process improvement, quality control, healthcare operations including network development for consulting organizations, health plans, hospitals, ancillary and physician provider organizations. His experience spans but is not limited to the commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare and TriWest as well as the national healthcare exchange business lines. He has successfully led the integration of multiple provider networks through acquisitions, along with contracting and re-contracting with providers and hospitals. Joseph has solid experience in the expansion of several new provider networks in multiple markets. These markets served include:

Prior to joining ARC, Joseph founded Premier Healthcare Consulting, LLC (PHC), where he continued to use his expertise to build and optimize provider networks for various national payers. Earlier in his career, Joseph perfected his skills and gained valuable knowledge with key organizations such as United Healthcare, Schaller Anderson, LLC, Aetna, and Amerigroup Corporation. He possesses an excellent ability in growing and maintaining relationships, training and development, quality and process improvement, network development, implementation and team facilitation.
In addition to his role with ARC, Joseph served as past president of the Nashville Chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). He served in the capacity for two years and was an integral part in reviving the Nashville Chapter in 2004-2005. He is a Certified Six Sigma Greenbelt and is a former member of the Young Healthcare Professionals of Nashville. Joseph also served many years as a board member of First Shot Foundation and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Planning Committee. Along with his wife, he served as committee chair for the first faith-based “Relay for Life” event in the country.
